The Root Family

What are your days filled with? How does your family connect? What is your family’s love language? These are the questions I ask families before a family film session so I get to know what you and your family value. I was able to learn more about the Root family after spending a morning with them in their home. This family film is filled with precious moments of nursing baby, laughter shared between dad and daughter, dancing and twirling, and crawling through rainbow tunnels. That’s right… rainbow tunnels.

Do you remembering the way your baby played with your hair while nursing? Do you remember the quite moments spent together during those nap time routines? Do you remember the sunlight shining in through the window and shadows dancing on the wall as you and baby settle down for an afternoon nap? Well, those moment were preserved on the Root family film.

Do you remember reading books together snuggled up in a special blanket knit by great grandma? The Root family has this memory living inside their family film. How about having dance parties and tickle fights? The Root family loves doing both of those! They also love transforming the living room into a magical playland with cushion forts, rainbow tunnels, and mini trampolines. Most of all, this family love to DANCE! Twirling together, twirling alone, twirling in the sunshine, twirling with matching dresses - dresses that were made for TWIRLING! Twirling until you are so dizzy you fall over and then get back up to twirl some more.

And, then the magic moment… the gift handed to a filmmaker on a silver platter. The ending scene! Mom and dad dancing together, remembering their wedding day. Telling each other stories from that day where this family got its initial start. When I was watching this scene unfold, I knew this was the closing of their film. Of course, their daughter was still twirling in the foreground.
